TICC | CHY calendar for 5771 Sunday, June 26, 2011, Annual Membership Meeting On the agenda is voting for a new slate of officers and passing a budget for FY 2012, which for us begins on July 1. Other items may be placed on the agenda, as well. There will be more details after the May meeting of the Board of Trustees. Friday, July 1, 2011, It has become an anticipated annual tradition. We will have a barbecue at shul, followed by a “musical kabbalat shabbat,” with live musical accompaniment and, perhaps, our own “choir” to lead the singing. This year, we are also going to experiment with music during the Maariv service, which occurs after Shabbat has begun. Services will be followed by a rdessert reception. Monday, August 8, 2011, A Maariv service, including the recitation of M’gillat Eichah and some kinot. Sunday, August 21, 2011, Last summer’s “bring your own food” picnic was a success. This year, we are turning it into a full-fledged barbecue (we will bring the food and do the cooking). The venue probably will be Ross Docks, although we will consider some other appropriate sites. Sunday, August 28, will be our rain date for this event. Saturday, September 24, 2011, A string quartet plus oboe in an evening of classical music, including some Jewish-themed pieces. The social, as always, will be followed by the S'lichot service, ushering in the High Holy Days season. Saturday, October 8, 2011,
